Title A name given to the resource 51 Identifier An unambiguous reference to the resource within a given context 2009,8023.2 Type The nature or genre of the resource arm-ring Description An account of the resource Gold arm-ring of narrow band with punched decoration and tapering ends which have been drawn into wires and loosely twisted two-and-a-quarter turns round each other; complete, but slightly distorted in places. The decoration consists of two continuous, opposed rows of punched, apex-to-apex V-shapes with club-shaped arms joining at the 'handles', each pair enclosing a minute, punched triangle, mostly pointing outwards. But, to one side of the centre of the front of the ring, one pair of Vs lacking triangles are each turned to point outwards, while, on the other side, an adjacent pair of the sub-circular shapes left between the pairs of Vs are punched, the one towards the centre with two triangles of slightly different sizes and the other with just one. Also, at one end of the band two pairs of Vs are placed on their sides with single triangles above and below the junctions of the arms, while at the other end there is only a single pair of Vs on its side. Here and there the punching has pushed out the adjacent edges of the ring a little, giving them a slightly undulating appearance; the inner surface is plain.
